Who is suitable for an upper eyelid surgery?
People seeking anti-ageing treatments frequently seek eyelid surgery. Ptosis (Sagging of the skin around your eyes) is a normal part of aging, but if the symptoms are becoming irritating, you may want to explore this sort of surgery. What to expect
Before the procedure:
- Blepharoplasty is typically performed as a day case procedure.
During the procedure:
- If you have blepharoplasty surgery on both your upper and lower eyelids, our expert plastic surgeon will often start with the upper lids. They will make a cut along the eyelid's fold, remove some superfluous skin, muscle, and maybe fat, and seals the wound.
- The surgeon will make a cut slightly below the lashes in the natural crease or inside the lower lid. They will close the wound after removing or redistributing extra fat, muscle, and drooping skin.
- If your upper eyelid droops too close to your eye, your surgeon may perform blepharoplasty with ptosis, a technique that adds support to the eyebrow muscle.

Results:
- So many of our patients are pleased with their blepharoplasty outcomes. It gives them a more relaxed and rejuvenated appearance and increased self-confidence. The results of surgery can last 10 years for some. Others may experience a recurrence of some droop after a number of years.
- Bruising and swelling usually go away in 10 to 14 days. The surgical cuts are in the crease of the lid and so are not very noticeable. It is important to stay away from direct sunlihgt in the initial post operative period. A good hat and sunglasses are the best option.
